angel eye bulb upgrade
#22
Guys..
As my car was off road for the last 5 days because of the snow the lights were showing no error codes. today i drove the car after 5 days and as i moved off it showed an error code. pretty bugged about it. if anyones finds any bright white bulbs that don't show error codes please let me know.

I've also been looking to upgrade the angeleye bulbs to make them look whiter and will probably be buying ones I saw on a different thread.

I think these are the brightest and whitest halogen upgade for the 501 sidelight/angeleye bulb that I've found so far. Normal / stock 501 halogen bulbs are 5w bulbs but these are 8w. They are not bright enough (like the stock yellow halo rings on my car) to be too obvious during the daytime but look nice at night.
As for the LED 501 bulbs, they will always give errors UNLESS resistors are used to cancel / prevent the error. LEDs run at much lower power and the computer recognises this as a faulty bulb and issues the warning. I know someone who can fit the 501 LED bulbs with the resisitors but I wonder how the LED bulb compares with the 8w halogen upgrade. Lots of upgrade 5w bulbs are available but the 8w bulb seems good in the pictures I've seen on here.

well i've ordered some new ones now which will not give an errror code. they are not LED but should be just as bright by the looks of it. i ordered them a few days back so should receive them next week from a member from this forum. as soon as i fit them in i will post pics and give you feedback.
a lot of people on this forum have got these particular bulbs. i read through an old thread from 2007 and tracked the member down. seems like a nice reliable guy.

I tried them, Great at night but cant seem them through the day. They are really white and look great when you can see them. I tried to find the same bulb but in 10w cant find them anywhere. I went back to 10w yellow tinge
