Amp upgrade for M-ASK
Hi! Have anyone tried to add an amp to the headunit (m-ask) before? I have a 2005 e61 with s676 hifi and the headunit powers all the speakers except the subwoofers. I find it to be quite weak, and i have read about people adding a amplifier to get better sound. My question would be how would you connect this to the headunit, and are there any places with enough space to hide it?

the HIFI audio system has a small amp in the trunk (not fiber optic like top-hifi or individual). Only base stereo used the head unit as an amp
Speakers are also paper with small magnets so if you're going to run more power through them; you'll likely have to upgrade those too or they wont last too long. |
Ok, i did alot of searching, and found multiple places that said the rear amp, atleast on my model only powers the subwoofers. And the rest is powered from the headunit which delivers 4x25w. and the one in the rear is 2x40w.I found an old thread, and he upgraded the amp in the back for the subwoofers, and wrote he had bought a 4x80w amp to have in the front. Only problem is he never wrote something after this, and its almost a 10 years old thread. I have already upgraded the speakers, so no problem there. I just dont understand how the rear amp is powering everything, it makes so much sense it is only powering the subs. only 11 wires going to the connector aswell.
