Alpina Wheels from e39 to e60
#1
Hi, I had a late e39 530i sport and have just taken deliveryy of a new E60 535d M Sport. My query is that i have transferred the 19" Alpina rims and tyres to the new ca, which look very nice, however would anybody be able to let me know of any technical reason that this transfer should not have ben done. i.e. due to hubs etc??
Hope you can help me.

In practice that E39 wheels do not fit a E60...
These rings make the wheels sit snug on the hub. Offset and PCD are the same on both models.

They do fit an E60 perfectly fine. All you need are hubcebtric rings that correct the larger E39 centre bore diameter down to the E60 centre bore diameter. (reducing from 74 to 72.5 mm)
These rings make the wheels sit snug on the hub. Offset and PCD are the same on both models.

Do NOT use hubcentic rings on a BMW, at least not on a new E60!!!
You'll never get the wheels balanced as they should be and... do not be stupid!
For a 535d with torgue like a 70 ton truck

And why are my 166 replica wheels perfectly balanced then ?
Perfect handling, no shimmy and goes like on rails. For a long time now and very often up to top speed.
And mine is also a 535d.
If you want to live in the BMW bubble and pay their prices, fine. But not only BMW engineers know what their doing. In fact many BMW employees, now called fitters instead of technicians or engineers, are totally lost without computer diagnostic guidance. No more looking for mistake, but replacing parts until the problem is gone.
There are thousands using replica wheels with hubcentric rings.
AC schnitzer sells their wheels with adapters to make them fit on E90 E60 X5 etc., as they do not produce all of them with different offsets for all the cars. How do they get it working correct ?
