air filter choice
#1
Is the bmw air filter of choice for the K1200RS still the OEM paper filter? I recall reading that in years past. I am about to venture into the bowels of the Kwik Kraut and will be changing out the air filter while I am at it. Just wondered whether going with the K&N was a good choice or not. Thanks in advance!!!!

or maybe you would want to go for a whole cold air intake. cheapest would most probably be AFE, made specifically for 530s and 550s. there's a member though who has a 545 and is going to retrofit the 550 AFE cai onto it, if he hasnt done so already. other than that, dinan makes a cai specifically for the 545. not sure which e60 you have.

You need to be careful with K&N at first. I think that the computer needs to get used to the extra air flow at first. My car stalled regularly for about a month, and then it was fine. I also removed the charcoal filter as many have done.
I have now had the K&N filter for 8 months, and everything is good.
