I use oem at $22.00 a pop you just ant beat it. Also, rain X. I love this but hate when you get the build up mark from where the wipers stop and the occasional chatter. I think I will give the windshield prep bar a try!

Do you buy your wiper refills at a local dealer or other source?

I agree on the RainX ... If you can resist running the wipers and drive at a speed high enough to have the wind force rain away it's great. But, even after a few wipes there's the annoying end of wipe cycle line and eventually chatter starts. After using it for years I've settles on a thorough cleaning with Windex (keep ammonia away from paint or it will remove wax faster than a Democrat takes money out of your wallet!!). Every now and then a little clay bar cleaning. I also remove and clean the wiper blades with some Dawn liquid dish detergent. You'd be surprised how much black gunk comes off them and they regain their clean wiping ability!

Thumbs up Cleaning a windshield

I was curious to see what the kit actually contained so I hit the company's website AGS Company - Windshield Clean and Prep Kit

According to the data sheet (downloadable) http://www.agscompany.com/images/sto...d%20WCP-1A.pdf the two ingredients are carbonic acid and feldspar. The acid must function as a cleaning agent and feldspar is often used as a polishing material. Included is an "eraser" - I think it must be similar to one of those 'magic erasers' things that you can buy in most cleaning departments. So, used together the kit should clean and polish glass. Without reading the "instructions" it'd be advisable to avoid getting any of the carbonic acid on the paint. Even diluted it could cause a problem.

So, here's what I think - the carbonic acid acts like vinegar (also a mild acid) that is often used to clean glass + feldspar, a mild glass polish, applied with the "eraser" to deliver the combination of cleaner and polish. That said, packaged together @ $1.99 is convenient but I think most folks who clean their own cars would have the basic ingredients in their garage or kitchen already.

But as a find, I give it a
