aftermarket hid will cause car to catch fire?

i heard from a workshop friend that he has seen a few cases of bmws and mercs caught fire due to installaton of aftermarket hid. can this be true?

yes its possible. The resistors can get very hot and if not heatsinked properly can cause all sorts of things to catch fire.

my ballasts are safe. Dont worry

I had a customer bought cheap ebay ballasts and melted his entire front bumper. He now has my HID kits and is veyr happy.

so far in HK all cars with HID has not gone on fire and safe.
just dont get the very cheapo 1s
