After-market heated seats

Well when buying used cars you can't exactly get everything you want, and I didn't get heated seats. Huuuge regret but theres always hope. Haven't seen anything about this yet so here's my question, is it possible to get OEM seat heaters? or do you have to get a whole OEM seat with heaters already in it? I looked at aftermarket seat heater pads ranging from $199-$400 per seat, some are even separate for butt and back heat (which gets pricey when you want to do 4 seats), but I dont know how I feel about pulling the upholstery off my seats and trying to mount the aftermarket switches somewhere. Any thoughts?

Anybody have ideas? I would love to get OEM parts, because I don't really feel like drilling holes to mount switches and all that stuff.

Well you might want to check with harman who is the new guy on the forum talking about cheap parts from his uncles junk yard for oem parts. As far as I know the heated seat mechanisms are part of the seat covers and not the seat itself, but I'm not 100% on that. I don't imagine that it will be cheap trying to get oem seat heaters installed in all 4 seats.

From what I've seen, there are aftermarket heating pads that you place under your upholstry.I'm just not comfortable with some of this sketchy aftermarket stuff.
1. I just feel like you'd be able to see the pad under the leather over time when the leather stretches. And then you're looking at a square imprint in your seat.
2. I've heard that they're prone to shorting out and blowing fuses.
3. Most of this stuff is dropshipped from China so you really don't know where its coming from.
4. Not too sure how I feel about pulling up my leather, is it easy? Will it fit correctly afterwards?
5. Lastly I'd have to mount the buttons somewhere, I suppose I could drill holes for them down with the rest of the power seat contorls.

Having looked into this I think retrofitting rear seats is easier than the front seats. And I would actually try putting a rear heating pad in the front.
