Does an after market air intake make a big difference in sound? Any hp gains?

Speed Innovation ECU remap will give you actual and best gains in HP and torque, for the 550 15 HP, 18-20 TQ. PM me for details. The competition normally charges you $1000 or more for the remap, but we can beat their prices.

Best thing is money back guaranteed if not satisfied.

Hope it helps.

Rocky, go with a PnP tuner chip. Im sure r1racer can help you out. The SI/EuroRev remap for the twin turbo engine is currently in production.

I also have a 535i and here's what i found:

the stock airbox is good for up to 350WHP. I had the dual cone intake and then took it out because i lost some torque. if you have a tune, the stock air box and exhaust can still perform. it's only ideal to put on an aftermarket intake and exhaust if you want to race your car and will be running over 350WHP. Otherwise, your stock intake and exhaust is the best for daily driving. Go for a tune like Procede V3, Juice Box 3, or Dinan flash. Having a tune alone will already make our car run 4.5sec 0-60 (an M5 stock performance). No need for a noisy exhaust and intake but then again it all depends on your taste. Good luck!

For the 535, I think you will be better off with a software upgrade and then going with an exhaust/intake. The 535 biturbo engine is very flexible in terms of software upgrades so there are a lot of gains to be had.

We offer the Active Autowerke ECU upgrade for the 535 which is a direct ECU tune that is fairly straight forward to install.

Looking at the hardware in the 545/550 the most gain, on hang on parts, would probably come from extractor Manifolds and metall core catalyst combined with a nice 2x2.5" exhaust.

Second to that would be to do your own CAI, with a e60 diesel air hose and some couplings. (Smart mans Dinan copy)
And why not add some ram air scoops to secure airflow. Smooth out the radii before the throttle body (545i)

A well suited software for the modifications and you will probably ending up with about 390hp on a 550i and about 360hp on a 545i.

I LOVE it on mine and I just have a 530. Get it Rocky! It will make a HUGE difference on your TT engine.

I don't wanna do a software upgrade since the vehicle is leased.
