So I know AFE got a bad rap and rightfully so as one of the owners of an AFE CAI who switched back to stock/scoop, with a HUGE improvement. However one thing I did like about the setup was the prodry filter that required no oiling or anything other than running it under water to clean ever 20k miles or so.
I am always a bit worried the oiled filters that show up from the factory of KN or the one RPI pushes will overtime gunk up the MAF.
ANy thoughts or experience on the prodry filters in a stock box-I figure they must flow better than stock

the filters come pre-oiled. most of the stories and experiences Ive heard about too much oil is from people washing the filter and re-oiling themselves (putting too much) and resulting in affecting the MAF sensor. once its time to replace or wash the filter, most people just buy a new one rather than risking the over-oiling.

The Pro Dry is a solid choice if you don't want to deal with oiling the filter every few thousand miles. The Pro Dry will not be as high flow as the Oiled version but does offer better filtration than the oiled and better air flow over stock. These have been very popular for us, especially with the 335 and E9X M3.

Not the pro dry, they do not come oiled and do not use oil. I agree though I would not try to oil my own filter that is forsure
