Anybody recommend one over the other for an intake solution?

AFE or RPI?

RPi for sure...Afe is trash!!!!

the afe has proven loss of power wheareas the RPi scoops and BMC drop in filters have proven gains.
If I were you i would go with the RPi setup

RPI for sure. best setup is the scoop with an aftermarket filter (package deal with BMC filters). we have the scoops in stock as well
