I got mine from Sonic MS in Santa Clara. They're a vendor for AFE and happen to do all the work on my mods. I was quoted $440 installed. I saw a deal on Ebay.
From what I understand and have heard, AFE is big with the e46 crowd. The price is right too compared to Dinan and Gruppe M.

I guess AFE it is... I did some research and it seems like dinan nor gruppe M make intakes for the 550i.
Do you have any sound clips or videos by any chance?

Sound clips or vids will have to wait for next week. The CAI is arriving Friday in Santa Clara. I just arrived in LA Thursday night.
