You are slow-that is what I said-the HOOD makes the enclosure complete-what do you think that you close the hood and there still remains a huge gap there even though the hood is smack dab shut onto the walls of the intake-ya know like putting a roof on the house. Thing of the walls of the house as the heat shield surrounding the filter inside-hmm like say the people in the house. And the hood-which we will call the roof for you, goes on top and protects the people inside-yay do you get it?
The silver thing on top is just for show and again the hood encloses it-your just slow its cool-I am slow on some things too-

u seemed to enjoy and know a fair amount about the AFE intake. do u have a v8, do u have aftermarket exhaust? if so, did it make ur exhaust louder? r u still happy with the product?
