I think it's worth the money to take it to a shop to do it right the first time. There aren't a lot of folks here that have the AFE CAI, and those that do, like me, got a shop to do it.

I have heard on e90post that some people doing DIYer for the AFE CAI ran into problems. Just make sure the fitting is secure.

I want to get the AFE for my 545i. Just need a shop that can custom install it for me here in SoCal before I get it.

SH,
You have two options:
1. Drive up to Santa Clara and have Darwin custom fit the AFE CAI for you.
2. Hope and pray that Darwin shows Robert, from Eurorev, how to do it next weekend while in LA for HIN. Afterwards, you can take your car to Eurorev to get it done.

Thanks for the heads-up VT.... It would be awesome if Robert from Eurorev can learn the install from Darwin. Eurorev's shop is only 15-20 minutes from my house. I'm also planning on them to do my M-Tech install so it would be perfect if they could do the AFE intake at the same time.
