heezy545i was asking the same thing about this company though for the 4.4 545i engine. They have the CAI for the 4.8 550i engine.

think i am going to give it a shot since DINAN is not going to release a CAI for another year, they will be having some Software for the 530's next month. Think we need to try this CAI

just wondering..unless it was dinan, wouldnt a cold air intake put some lights up in the panel and void warranty though?

I had a non-Dinan CAI on my 330i. It never set a code, but I had a pre-existing condition that set off the service engine and it turned out to be the mass air flow sensor going bad. I took the CAI off when I went in for that service visit (to avoid the potential for hassle), but not for any other trips to the dealer. The only warranty concern would be if a something was wrong that was closely linked to the CAI (like a MAF sensor).

AFE is a quality brand. AFE intakes come highly recommended for the e46 M3 as well as the rest of the e46 lineup. I believe you have the same engine as the past 330is so you could check out other BMW forums for reviews.

I wouldn't expect much in terms of power, but it should give a nice throatier sound. An intake combined with an exhaust and software should give you some decent gains.

Some of us were talking about the AFE CAI today at the meet, let us know how it works out for you

On another note how is the VF Supercharger for the 530i working out for you? I want to get one but they said it wasn't ready yet

Thanks!
