AE as DRL
 

I know this has been asked a million times I bet but i couldnt find an appropriate answer. I even signed up to your forums just to find a decent answer.

I have a 2004 545i and would like to make the drl the AE. currently there are no drl.

Is it possible to code them into the car or will there need to be physical mods preformed. Looking at the ncsexpert mods there are drl codes but idk. i keep seeing lma and lma2. Since i am new to all this i have no clue what these mean.

Could someone give me a direct answer to how to code or wire the drl to be the AE. I would greatly appreciate that. Thanks

the inner round drl should turn on when your car is running as well as the 4 angel eyes. what do you mean currently there are no drl?

From what I understood on the pre-LCI it is possible but you would need the LM2 module with some wiring and then coded too.

Unfortunately as above - you will need to have LM2 module.

It is usually easy swap and some codding

But as your car is 2004 and you have HID, do you also have the AHL?

There's a few modules on eBay going for about $440 if you search part number 61359203082 (newest version)

There is a way which you can do it without the lm2 but this will require cutting up 1 wire from each headlight. If you interested let me know. If you are let me know what lights your car has halogens or xenons. Good luck.

Am I correct in assuming your old 545i is running with the parking lamp setting in that picture? I'm basing that on you saying you had your drls (inner halogen bulb) turned off by the dealer, and your eyebrows are illuminated as well.

i dont remember exactly what i had it switched to its been too long. i do remember having the dealer turn off my halogen inner bulbs though.

do you remember by any chance how much they had charged?

I was getting other work done so they didnt charge me. I imagine no more than .5 hours labor
