greetings everyone,
its almost not worth it to ask, but id realllyyy like to know if adding night vision to an e60 can be done for pre lci models.
I would absolutley love to have this done on my car but was wondering if it can be done, or is worth it. of course this would be in the future of my car but i would really like to add this option.
It looks amazing, easy to detect deer, and other possible objects in or alongside the road like people for example. night driving out here with the night vision thermal cam would give me some more piece of mind.
i have seen threads for lci but not pre lci.
One camera i saw for sale was $1000 just for the camera its self.
so, say you buy the camera, is it possible to get this to work? Finding someone to code this would also be a pita im guessing.
thoughts on this?
This thread is nearly the result of spending to much time on 5 series forums and youtube..
thanks for any info you could give me on this!

if you are doing this the OEM way you'll need atleast 3 things. The camera, the control unit and the FSC code. The camera and the control unit must been matched, so you can't just buy them from different sources. Finally you'll need the FSC that will enable this on your idrive. Very expensive.
Another cheaper route to consider it to buy a thermal imaging camera and then connecting it via an aftermarket video interface.
