For my 04 530i Black Sapphire metallic. I am in the market looking for some rims and tires. I do want em Staggered maybe the m6 style ones. How big can i go and not be worried about bottoming them out In NYC, cuz its really bad here on the roads. And also what is the solution of the tire pressure monitoring system? Will the light stay on or can do something about it? Thanks for feed ins.

Well, i'll tell you now, you dont have TPMS, you have FTM (Flat tire management), since your car is a 2004.

The TPMS came on a later model / series with sensors on the wheels itself to monitor the pressure. The FTM which I have too, measures the rotations of the wheels once you set it, if it varies, the alarm goes off.

If you get rims, you just have to reset your FTM. Once you do that, your car will realize the wheels are fine. As for getting staggered, the M6 rims are a great choice and perfect for NYC. if you get OEM M6, 19 inch rims, they will fit and look perfect. But if you want 20's, make sure you get some strong rims, because our NYC roads will kill those rims. I've been riding 20's for a season and a half and haven't had problems. Good luck man! and definitely come out to the NYC meets so we can all talk about mods and cars. =)

You'll see some postings in the Meet and Greet section.

As for tire size, the biggest recommended size is 245/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 in the rear. Also if you want M6 reps. I believe Miro are the best for those. Problem is, those are on backorder till Middle to end of June of believe. U can never go wrong with OEM though.

if you want the M6 style rims, Miro makes a reputable replica in either 19s or 20s. Id recommend the 19s, just like the OEM M6 167 wheels. no chance of rubbing and recommended tire size would be 245/35/19 and 275/30/19

+1 on the Miros, we've carried them for several years now and are by far one of the best replicas out there.

I just bought a 2006 550i and looking to switch out the wheels. Any idea what type of TPMS I have? I went on tirerack to look at wheels and it asked if I have a rubber or metal pressure monitor. I haven't had time to read the manual and unsure if it states which type I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What's the site to look at Miro wheels?

BTW..I just joined this forum.
