Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and have a specific question about Active Autowerke's exhaust. I have a 2002 325i with AA exhaust and recently purchased a 2004 525i. I have a friend who works at VW of SD and he says that the exhaust could easily be installed on the 525i with little to no modifications needed. The pipeing is the same on both the 3 and the 5. But my specific question is about the fitment. Both motors are 2.5L inline V's. Has anyone done this before? Does my friend know what hes talking about? Any feedback would be great! Thanks_West

no such thing as an inline V. but i don't think the muffler will fit- the one that would is the e46 323/328 muffler, which has a single large diameter intake pipe like your e60 does instead of the twin intake (NOT exhaust) pipes the 325 exhaust does.. the hangers are different, but any competent muffler shop can take care of that.

I've put exhaust on both my e46 325 and my e60 530 and like previously stated the 325/330 exhaust system runs dual pipe from the headers all the way back to the muffler, where as the 525/530 exhaust is only dual back to about the rear axle where it is then joined together with a y connector to create one large diameter pipe going into the exhuast. So long story short I would say no it won't work unless you want to cut out the oem y connector on the e60 and then run some new pipe to connect to the AA exhuast.
