Guys, the worst thing about this is that all of this is kinda my fault - it was I who recommended this shop to Scott. This shop's been pretty good to me for some years and yet somehow the one simple thing like this they manage to fvck up... Scott, I promise I'll fight with Jacob til my last drop of blood on your behalf to get this rectified.
THAT is the problem, bc the spoiler had tape on not just the recessed area!
dumbass LOL
Scott, the recessed area on the underside of the spoiler is meant to mate up to this area I pinpointed on the trunklid. If you use tape outside this area, it is visible. They may need to use two layers of tape on the recessed area to take up up the recessed gap as well. I would explain this to whoever installed the spoiler and have them redo it. That is just piss poor workmanship.
dumbass LOL

hey, sharpie works wonders!
All i think they gotta do is test fit it without the adhesive exposed. I did that first and then mounted it with masking tape. Then lift slightly and start peeling the adhesive.

I'll make sure Jacob re-installs it, Scott. Let me know when.

Don't sweat it. That place has done good work on your car. I am free Friday morning to return there for spoiler install 2.0.

Scott, It looks good but ...take it out and remount it....the 3M that I used is much thinner and is black with red peel-offs.

Good luck with install 2.0
The spoiler looks good from the back hopefully they can get it right this time so it will be perfect from all angles!

Scott, unlike your hairline, the tape will not recede. Seriously though, the tape was placed incorrectly on the spoiler. There is a recessed area on the underside of the spoiler, tape should be placed there only, not on the raised under section. You're spoiler needs to be removed and reinstalled properly and it will look just fine.
