My car is currently behind lock and key at the dealership waiting for a new DME. To cheer myself up I am contemplating getting the ACS Sports rear Silencer fitted.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone that has this fitted, or indeed any other silencer, to find out if it made a noticeable difference to either the performance or engine note.

I have the Eisenmann rear silencer. It makes a big difference in appearance and in engine sound. Much more V8 but not too loud. Performance wise - no big difference.

Thanks for your responses

Cidair - if possible could you post a sound clip??

I think that if we all heard the effect there may be a few more of us interested in this mod.

How long is the installation for the ACS exhaust system? I presume it doesn't void the warranty?

I've been quoted about ?650 pound sterling for parts and fitting. This was from an independant specialist. If I went this route though I think that it would invalidate the warrenty. However, as BMW (G are official importers for ACS if they fit the part the warrenty is unaffected.
