Hi All,

I have been reading the forums for sometime in anticipation of my ne E60.
And being a gadget guy I have read about the Accessory Control Module and USB interface to allow playback of MP3's, DivX/XviD movies and pictures etc.
See here... http://forums.e60.net/lofiversion/index.php/t54943.html

I'm quite keen to get that done as my first mod but I have called some dealers near me and the response has generally been the same.
"Whats that?" "What does it do?" "Wow, never heard of that"
When I have provided the part number the response which they have read from the computer is "Product on hold. Subject to demand".
Which makes me laugh considering it's not listed on the accessory price list! So how on earth (well just the UK) is anyone supposed to demand it if they don't know about it!

One dealer stated that if BMW get enough interest from the UK then they'll release pricing.

So here's the plan:

1. Post you interest on this thread so we can refer BMW UK to it.
2. Contact your local dealer parts & accessories department asking for pricing for the ACM retrofit part number - 65 50 0 441 372 and USB retrofit - 65 50 0 433 281.
When they give you the details about the product being on hold, demand them to contact BMW with your interest and let you know the reply.
3. If anyone gets any further information on pricing etc. Please post it here with the capable service centre.

DMAN

This looks really good.I already have the USB interface option so I assume I only need the ACM part .This should then mean that I can play videos from my ipod on the Sat Nav display.I have some films on the ipod too !

I will ring my local BMW dealer tomorrow and quote the ACM part number.I will let you know what he says.

this particular usb interface is specific only to the ACM - you need both part no.s as stated in my usb/acm thread.

The weird thing is you can get the USB interface in the UK but the ACMs are not available and have never been.
