Hi all,
I have wanted to change my rims for a long time now (my car came with 134s ). Yesterday I went to a wheels shop and they had the 7 series wheels Style 95, but in 18" and darker chrome. In terms of sizes and offsets, they will fit with no problems.

I made a comparison between them and the M5's style 166, and came up with the conclusion that they might look pretty awesome on my E60 (mine is Silver Grey), and the wheels are a bit dark chromed. I attached pictures here of the original style 95 and of the style M 166 for reference.

Please take a look at the picutres and tell me if you think they will look good on my car or not.

The 95's are 9x19ET24 and 10x19ET24. (166's are 8.5x19ET18 and 9.5x19ET32)

Personally, I think there's too much 'metal' in the alloy - but there again I like 'minimal' It's all personal choice...

is a definite improvement from the 134s..they are nice..but there are much better looking rim in my oppinion...and just like colejl i like less metal, i like it when the rims show the brakes...
im assuming you will be buying a used set, or replicas...if found a a good price...i suggest go ahead...but i would never buy them espically if new...

I agree on that. If you buy them new, you should better go for the M5's...
But i have to say they look better on the 5 series than on the 7 series

I thought those were 20" rims on the 7 (maybe I'm thinking of the 750?). Hard to tell the size of the 95s on that 5, but I like it.

These are not the original ones, these are replicas made for the 5 series size (they are 8x18 ).

My point is as follows, nowadays everyone is installing either the M5 wheels or the M135 wheels here. I was thinking of those style 95 wheels for my car to end up a little bit more unique .

Also from the "amount of metal" point of view, I don't see an enormous difference between the 166 and the 95. Yes the spokes of the 166 are thinner especially at the center, but at the end of the day, IMO the style 95 can not be considered as "too much metal". I even feel that they have less metal than most of the standard wheels on the E60 (123, 124, 138, 134, 116, etc), but they definately have more metal than the rather common 166s, which I really love BTW.

I like. Have always preferred that flow of center in, flowing in a concaved mode out to rim. Even better IMO, if it had a lip, but even w/o I like better than M5 rim in this case.

Quick Reply: 7 series wheels on my E60. What do you think?
