Just wondering if anyone has tried this yet. I know we've all seen the 7 series wheels on the 5 before. Pics? Thanks.

I just wondered how it would look. Seems like it could be nice...not to mention different.

I've thought of it before though. Once my buddy 645ci parked beside my car and i imagined of his wheels put on my car. I think it will look really nice! but i'm not too sure for the fittings of the wheels

If I remember correctly, the offest is different.
I was thinking of doing the same a while back.

Which wheels are they, are they on this list

The 6 series has 14mm offset, i.e. the distance from the mounting plate to the center of the wheel. The 5 series has a 20mm offset. Therefore mounting the 6 series wheel will result in the wheel being pushed out by by 6mm.

In a 18 x 8 wheel, the width of the wheel is 8 inches and changing from an offset of 20 to 14 should be O.K because you only push out the wheel by 6mm.

As we know the 5 series sport comes with an 18 x 9 inch wheel with an offset of 20mm. Thus by adding 1 inch in the rear wheel by changing from a 18 x 8 to an 18 x 9 wheel width with the same offset of 20mm you are essentially adding 0.5 inches to the outer and inner side of the wheel on the 545 sport pkg. Now converting inches to mm thats 13mm. So in a car that can take a 13mm extension on either side of the wheel a 6 mm extension should be O.K.

Performance shouldn't change that much but I am not an engineer. Please don't quote me and risk getting the wheels. I am only expressing my deduction of why these wheels should fit. I wanted to get 6 series wheels for my self too.

I have spent more than I can getting my 545i sport, so I can't experiment. But if any one does I would love to see pics. I love the 6 series wheels.

The BBS RK's that I got are an ET13, however they are 8.5" wide.
They don't look out of place either in the front or rear.

Hi, I was looking to do this tommorrow.
My dad has a set of 19"rims from his 645.He upgraded to 20's and the other wheels are not being used at present.
I can post pictures tommorrow if you wish.
Regards
Simon
