550i w/ Megan Racing SS Exhaust | Video & Soundbyte!

Hey guys, just joined! New owner of a 2007 550i 6-speed w/ sports pkg. Enjoying it a lot so far. Of course the stock exhaust was not really cutting it, so started looking around for inexpensive options, and found this: Megan Racing Supremo Axleback . Even though it's meant for the E60 M5 (driver side unit), i decided to get it anyway. The muffler shop made it fit without much hassle and a bit of modification to the hangers.

I've been driving around with it on for about a week and am very happy with it so far. It's not loud or droning at all! If anything, it's very much on the quiet side for an aftermarket exhaust. Of course I realize that this is just the axleback portion, and not the whole catback. I did the video with the baffles on, and took them off since... not much difference in sound levels from what I can tell. Let me know what you think... and pardon the fumes from the leaky valve seals

I actually like the sound, not too loud but definitely noticeable. I have a 535i and put on a Megan Racing universal muffler, don't have a video on my phone to upload, but it has a nice European/Import sound to it.

Thanks man! I also have an 09 335i, same N54 platform as yours. Thinking about doing this
to it. The stock exhaust is way too quiet.

I'll try to get a sound clip up later tonight.

I've seen 3ers just mod the valve to stay open, "golf tee mod". Personally, unless you know how to weld and have the equipment on hand, it seems like it would be cheaper to buy a universal muffler/s and have them installed. But I totally understand doing your own thing, that's why I have what I do.
