My Ride: 2006 550i Sport - fully loaded minus cold weather package. Blue angel eyes, 19" 167s
Default

Okay guys,

I'm officially running the 550 in the Cannonball - the Porsche 944 GTR Turbo project is going to take until April 08 to finish.

I'm going to go with the:

Hamann Front Bumper
Hamann Rear Diffuser for quad exhaust
Hamann Quad Exhaust
Hamann Trunk Lip Spoiler
Wheels....20" don't know what type yet
Possibly brembo 15/14" front rear brake package

Is there anything that improves hp/tq? Also on the Hamann front bumper it comes with the lights that go in it - are those Xenon or just regular fogs?

Any info or advice on this stuff is welcome!

I replied in the other thread you revived. VFE supercharger is the way to go.

Is it fairly bolt on? Looking for straight forward stuff as I won't be in the US until its time to race. I'll probably have my guys at the dealership do it.

Yes, it's a bolt on. VF Engineering superchargers are installed by some LA dealerships for the e46 M3. You should really look into it. Here's a great thread: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=34071

Awesome, just emailed them for more info and if they're selling yet or not. I want to go for a stage II if they have it.

VFE hasn't nailed down a release date yet. I was told that they are targeting end of 1st quarter. Realistically, it'll be more like 2nd quarter when they will be releasing to the public. Stage I for the 550 will produce 500 HP with 400+ torque (might be more 500 lb ft?). These numbers will make you more than capable of taking on the e60 M5. Stage II probably won't be for a year or two. I'd imagine it'll produce 550 HP/550 torque?

You want performance over cosmetics right? Then go with 19s. 167 is one of the lightest OEM wheels. 101 is another wheel that's light. Aftermarket 20s will slow you down a little but they sure look good.

OEMs are nice, but if you're going to go all out, then I'd go for some lightweight HREs, maybe the competition series, or some Racmonolites.

Have fun on the run and good luck with the tickets. I hope to take part in one these type of runs down the road.

It's been discussed in the other thread, but I'd go for a M5 before considering a SC.
