My Ride: 08 550i, 6 Speed Manual w/Sport Pkg, Black
RPI Exhaust, Turner 15mm Rear Spacers, 20% Tint
Car: 08 550i Sport 6M
Scenario:
You are a 40 year old guy. You still instruct/teach classroom with DelValBMW CCA but wont be tracking the 550i. You have a Formula Ford 1600 to race so no need to beat to hell your daily driver. You want to hear that V8. You dont car about MPG and have a heavy foot. You use the car for business from time to time. It's time for a exhaust and have been down the mod path many many times before having owned 4 previous E36 & E46 M3's.
Will a client in the passenger seat on the way to a lunch meeting hear that RPI and say WTF? Cant pull the trigger on something really loud. Not saying its not the tits when it comes to fun. But - Can I still have the "all grown up" appeal of the 550i w/the RPI as well?
This is the question....

My Ride: 2006 550i - Sport package, Cold Weather package, Nav, Xenon lights, 6 speed manual
Mods coming soon...Still need to figure it out.
Great question DelVal. Exact same situation that I have. Anxious to hear some more feedback from those who have the RPI installed.

My Ride: SOLD...Jet Black 2008 550i M Sport with SAT, black interior. RPI exhaust and air scoop, 35% huper optik tint all around, CF roundels, flat black kidneys, Springfield Armory XD-40 jet black in glove box, charcoal filter removed.
Been here, done this. See this post I started a few months back https://5series.net/forums/topic/826..._fromsearch__1. I ended up getting the RPI and LOVE it - not too loud, but you know its there.
Six months or so later and I still love it as much as the day I put it on.

My Ride: 2004 SMG 545i
silver grey metallic / bamboo anthracite / black leather
CPO
sport package
premium sound
park distance control
cold weather package
I'm wondering this myself.
From what i've heard about it on the forum, it seems to be pretty well liked, even when considering sound. Lots of the guys have wives and or children, and don't want a really obnoxious exhaust, yet they still pulled the trigger on the RPI. Like most exhausts, it will definitely be louder when you first install it, but once you drive it for a while, I've read that the sound softens a little.
IMO, I would get one, and if you dont like it or get complaints, i cant imagine you would have a very hard time selling it on the forums at all.
