I have a 08 550i m sport. So far i have dinan intake with stage 2 software and rpi gt exhaust. I was just wondering, would it be beneficial at all to add the rpi ram air scoops?

If the dinan intake doesn't have any piece that helps pull air in from the outside, I say get it.
Hell, you already spent a grand for the intake itself! What's another $100 right?

I have the Dinan CAI as well and I did not do the RPI because with the Dinan you have the secondary intake pulling outside air form the passenger side of the car along with the stock intake pulling from driver's side. Both of these pull from LOWER part of front end than the RPI would in the grill. The lower the air, the cooler it is, the more compressed it is. This equals MORE air and capacity too burn more fuel faster. Frankly, no matter how much we examine it there is prob. little difference. Not much in performance gains overall form a CAI. It helps but it not a monstrous upgrade. Breathes a lot better when you are up to speed but gains are fairly minimal. If you want to spend the $100 it is not that bag of a hit in the wallet but I doubt you will see any gains whatsoever.

I love the RPI exhaust! I looked into getting the Dinan, but chose to go with the RPI for more hp gains. Also I think the tips look better on the rpi, great sound as well.

My Ride: '08 550i RD SPORT CATLESS QUAD EXHAUST, DINAN INTAKE, RPI, 3D DESIGN CF AERO, COILOVER, 19" OEM 172's
I'm running the Dinan intake with the RPI scoops and I think it feels like the car pulls better at higher speeds but who knows though, maybe it's nothing. It's a cool enough looking mod though that it does get noticed. I'm running the RD Sport Quad exhaust catless with an xpipe. Sounds amazing, but might be too loud for some in the cabin.
I didn't end up doing software - is that any more worthwhile than the RPI scoops?

Custom Dusty, do you have a clip so we can hear your exhaust? I'm looking for something that sounds good...I like the Meistershaft sound...but $$$$$.
Also, this post is great, I am looking to install the dinan intake..seems like a great way to get an extra 20hp!...and easy bolt on!
