A close friend of mine has a 08 550i and said that he ran a 4.9 0-60 on a BONE STOCK 550i....yeah....and not only that...he outran a 335i!!!

I personally don't think this is possible....

Question two:

Is it true that the 535i is a quicker car than the 550i in short races?? TT I6 vs V8??? I have heard that this IS factual in many places. I however DO know that the longer the race goes, the more the 550 will start to pull on the 535.

It's indeed possible for a stock 550 to run 4.9 0-60. Members Grogan545 and Znod managed to get their stock 545s as low as 4.7s I believe. But that's with literally 100s of practice runs and mastering the launch. They have several long threads discussing their techniques and progress. Look them up.

Yes, a 0-60 time of 4.9 second for a 550 is certainly possible. The lowest 0-60 time clocked by a 550 by a major car magazine that I am aware of is 4.8 seconds.

The 535's engine feels faster off the line than the 550 but, to me, the 550's V8 is stronger than the 535's engine at higher speeds.
