Interesting...I too am considering the Dinan upgrade for my '08 535i. Sure did feel comfortable speaking with my dealers' "Dinan Expert" and knowing that I still would have warranty (by Dinan) and if my BMW dealer installs it...I'm assuming they would stand behind their work and/or deal with Dinan on my behalf should anything run amiss...what price were you quoted for the Dinan upgrade?
$2,200 + labor to remove and reinstall the computer. Apparently this early in Dinan's release schedule they can't program it at the service center they have to actually mail the computer off to them to have it done.

I get mine back on Thursday or Friday BTW.

Thanks for the head's up. Hopefully I'll be in better shape since my dealer is the Dinan dealer and is the one that is doing the install.

Anyone know a good dyno shop in Indianapolis, IN USA to test this stuff?

I was intested in this update from Dinan but was told that Dinan has only tested ECU update software on 335s and not 535s and thay they are working on finding a test 535 so they can release this software to public.
Which state are you located?

I'm in Indiana. On their website it says it is available but that you have to ship off your computer to them to have it done.

Anyhow, I got it back. I have two words for you...

"Oh My!"

Pretty amazing difference!

I was going to go with Vishnu until i found out about Dinan. Dinan does the same thing but charge you more, however you will have less headache. I know some members of this board experience some problems with Vishnu V2 so I decided to go with Dinan. Plus Dinan will not void your warranty as my dealer is Dinan friendly place. Currently Dinan software ECU update required ECU to be shipped to Dinan (3 days turnaround) for 08 models only. Because of the communication cable. However Dinan will be shipping new cables to its dealers very soon, so I'm waiting for this to happen so I can bring my car in.
Also seems like Dinan software outputs more torque.
