535d remaps +buying guide.
#1
I was just on here looking for some guides to buying 535ds as I am considering purchasing one next year some time, until I came accross threads like
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...;hl=535d+common
Raving about remaps, now IIRC the 535d has a 6 speed ZF transmission, model 6HP26 with a torque input rating of 600nm, now why would DMS rave about getting the 535d over 700nm when the transmission cannot handle it?
I had learnt the hard way with my e39, my transmission failed prematurely, one of the factors IMO was a remap, it was tuned byond the limit of the transmission.
Anyway, enough of that, I am thinking of buying a 535d sport, most likely 04/05, any ideason what to look for on these models, common faults etc?

That's the official recommended limit. However, it can handle more but there's the potential for more wear and an earlier demise...
up next is FMIC... hoping to safely carry out around ~350hp.... ~760nm....
currently 323hp and 689nm...
