535d with more than 700nm

I realized that in the 535d the first problem when you want to increase the power is tranny that can only take the max of 700nm. I have a Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2Did that has the same problem. It has from stock 163hp and 370nm, and now it has 200hp and 520nm. The turbo kicks at 2000rpm, but i can only give full throttle in 4th or 5th above 3000rpm, because below that rpm the tranny makes lots of vibrations. In lower gears i don't have any problem. But once it is manual and i know this issue, i can choose the right gear for the right rpm. With a automatic gearbox i guess that it is more dificult to control it.

Now, it was told me a story about the same tranny issue but in the S400cdi. They solved the problem with a new gearbox software. With this new sw, the gearbox doesn't allow to have big amount of torque in lower rpm's, so when you smash the throttle at lower rpms it will downshift until it gets higher rpms to avoid huge torque at lower rpms. Does anyone tried this?

If the gearbox wasn't a problem, what will it be the next one? Turbos? BTW, how much pressure does the turbos make from stock? And what pressure is need to make 350hp?

AFAIK, there are a number of tuning products (remaps) that claim 340-350 bhp for a 535d: Wetterauer and DMS are the first two that come to mind; both also claim substantial increases in torque, but remaining within the 700Nm constraint.

As well as increasing peak torque low down, it's also important to maintain the torque when spinning the engine up. Implied torque at peak power for a stock 535d is 477Nm @4000rpm; to get 350 BHP, you could for example increase maximum torque to 614Nm at the same rpm, or sustain the "current" torque level up to 5150 rpm. Most probably, what you'll get through an aggressive remap is going to be somewhere between the two, say 560Nm at 4400rpm.

Incidentally, maximum torque should a mappable/controllable parameter in the ECU - or at least this is what is implied by various tuners. The way I understand this, though, is that the gearbox has nothing to do with it, except possibly being the place where the torque sensor is placed.

Finally, in terms of "limiting factor", I believe the most significant one is going to be reliability!!!
