Did anyone had the same problem? Is it common for the 535d to break the exhaust manifold/header?

Just a thought; do you think the chiptuning had something to do with it (too much stress) ?

In almost any thread about 535d (performance/brakedowns etc) you have to put 535d down or 535d owners. It's so typical of you, you really are something and unique.
But i wonder why is that? Either you're just a really really mean/bad person and enjoy it, or you're simply jealous on the 535d performance gains/engine/everything related. And here we count the performance for the buck, the accessible power/torque via remaps, and even if you say is true that no 535d remaped can match or beat a stock 545i, i don't expect you to admit it, it's awfully close, for more than half the fuel consumption. That must be really a frustration for you. SO it's either no1 or no2. Case in which i dunno which one is worse.
I wonder why in every posts regarding 535d you're so negative and so destructive with your comments (and i really tired to ignore alot of them). This is one of the examples where you're input was very destructive and out of place.
PS: I even expect your reply, laughing sarcastically (with no real base) but also with no real explanation for your behavior. Neat way to make friends or socialize dude.

Not sure what the exact chip tuning for the 535d is but with most turbo based engines it most certainly involves adding extra boost. Extra boost means extra heat and extra stress. This can crack the stock manifold. Many gasoline turbo based cars that are tuned for higher then factory boost usually crack the manifold.

AlexFW.... get yourself a fast car and stop complaining.....

"You really are sick my friend, with this kind of sickness i dunno what to say!"
no need to say anything...he says it all....
Tiago: how is your average usage of the car?
Don?t forget that it is turning hot here in Portugal and i believe you know the temperature that our cars achive in the manifolds....
Now i?m worried too! We have the same car and with a similar remap!!! And a 535d manifold sounds...expensive!!!
Better buy a 545i.....

High depreciation car, high fuel consumption, lower milage, expensive petrol, not as moddable as the diesels (?/hp), higher service cost, shorter service periods...
In my head the daily cars like sedans, tourings and suvs should be only diesels. Only the truly sports cars like Porsche, Ferrari, Lamb, Audi RS, BMW M's and AMG's should be petrol.
