I know this doesn't answer your post but I was interested to see that you have actually removed the DPF on your car. Well done ! I've been having some issues with my 530d for which I've been seeking advice in my thread.

There are a few people who have removed the DPF. Just wanted to know if this is as major in terms of cost as a new DPF? Cars that don't have a DPF, do they emit a lot more visible smoke? Where could I go to have the DPF removed? I now know diesels can be a worry if they are not driven appropriately (not enough long journeys). I guess if one gets rid of the DPF, its one less thing to worry about. The other major one being the turbo as that too can be costly.
