My Ride: 2007 E60 535d M-Sport Individual. Moonstone with extended Platinum Leather, Professional Nav, Piano Black Trim, HUD plus other stuff like 20" Hartge Classic 2's!

Hi All
Newbie here who just took delivery of his BMW 535d M-Sport Individual on Saturday
(very pleased) and refuses to grow up and become boring..
I am now looking at a set of mint condition (used) Hartge Classic II alloys straight off a 2006 M5. The question is, will they go straight on my new Beastie?
The tyre sizes of the wheels i'd like to buy are..
Front 9J & with 255/35/20
Rear 10J with 285/25/20
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as i don't fancy a Homer Simpson "D'OH!" moment when i drive off and hear a loub rub-ub-ub-ub-ub as i drive off...

Hi. Congratulations with your new car! When are u going to tune it into a 350HP beast? ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
The hartge classic II wheels are beauifull. I bought the replica's because i dont think the originals are worth the money - especially since they are damn heavy! My feeling is that the wheels will fit fine on your car with no mods. But i am sure others here will give you some more advise based on experience.
I have 20" 245's in front and from the look of i 255's will fit ok. 285's though may touch. anyone?

Well - i'm 'sizing up' the different tuning options, although i must say i'm impressed with the performance as standard! I came from a 2004 E55 AMG (5.5 V8 Kompressor), which only felt a fraction faster! Two of my friends drove the car today, and both came back with a little smile and commented "that's just so WRONG for a Diesel to be that fast!!"
Although i have the 19" '172' wheels fitted, i think 20's look fantastic and would like a set. I also looked at the AC Schnitzer lower front grille - but at ?950 ($1800, 1400?) it seems an utter rip-off for a little bit of chromed metal!
Love the look of my 535d even as standard though, so won't be dipping my hand in my pocket for the sake of it. If i'm going to mod it, it will have to look 'just right'..
Lee
PS - I went for the individual 'Moonstone' colour.. is this popular? I originally opted for Ruby Black, but i got offered such a brilliant deal on the Moonstone i just couldn't say no.

The rear 285/25/20 will work. The front 255/30/20 will not. You will have to run 245/30/20 for the front. Rubbing will be an issue if you're lowered on springs. If you're on coilovers then you can dial in the right settings and avoid the rubbing.
And,
And,

Thank you for the welcome, and thank you for the advice!
Quick replies, and very friendly - just like the forum i run myself (but to do with Audio Visual products by a Danish Manufacturer).
Good work guys! (and gals?)
Lee
PS - Is the DMS chip still the way to go? I read some 'few month old' posts that pointed that way....

Just about any tuning shop will work for remapping your diesel. And from what I've heard DMS is one of the best and highly regarded by members here. Go for it! Gobs and gobs of torque; very much like your old E55.
PS, Are you lowered? Stock M suspension should be okay with the tire setup you're going for.

Totally standard, with just the M-Sport suspension. I'm not worried about lowering as the wife and kids think the ride is somewhat go-kart-esque already!!!

I see not reason for you to worry about rubbing then. Your rolling diameter is staying the same as your stock 172 wheel/tire setup with the 245/30/20 and 285/25/20.

Lee, i'm currently using 20" Hartge Classic 2 Wheels on my car, my setup is Conti SportContact3 (fronts : 245/30/20 and rear :295/25/20)...They don't rub at all and fyi i slammed down my car with kw v2 coilovers leaving not more than one finger on front and rear
...with full load (5 adults averaged 65kg/person) it's still ok...i'll posts some pictures to confirm this statement later... from my opinion, you can actually put them straight on because the hartge rims actually come together with their spacers for the front rims, in your case, if it does rub, take the spacers off and i don't think they'll rub at all...
