I own a 2007 530xi and plan on upgrading the wheels. Currently, it has the stock 17x7.5. I didn't like the Style 123's when I ordered the car so I figured I would buy aftermarket rims. After looking around I realized there isn't much available with the appropiate offset that will look good. I decided I like the OEM Style 124's the best and will buy them from Garry in Newport.

Here's my question-

Should I get the 18x8 (245 40R 18) with the 43 offset all around or get the staggered setup available with 18x8 in the front and 18x9 (275 35R 18) in the back with the 55 offset?

How will the ride, handling and acceleration compare with wider wheels in the back? Is there a noticeable difference?

Also, I ski a lot in the winter and want the car too still handle well in bad weather.

I will probably get the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires since they appear to get a better rating than the Michelin PS2 AS on Tire Rack and are cheaper.

Any thoughts are appreciated?

Get 19's. I am an xi owner too and I LOVE them. I've been doing research for the last year on wheels and finally found a set I love. Keep in the mind that the 124's for the xi don't have a deep dish look like the standard 124's on the RWD sport models.

IF you do go with with the 124 xi wheels, get them in staggered.
