530i tires
#1
Hi, what brand and characteristics of tires come stock on the new 2006 530i?
What is a good all season (wet/snow/hot summer) tire in lieu of the stock tire? Any experience in getting the dealer to trade out the stock tire for an all season with a difference in tire cost?

Well, Mistress junior member...thank you for the url...I had already been there prior to posting the question.
The purpose of the posting was to gain opinion based on experience. Also, there were a couple of other questions in the initial posting the url doesnt address. I am not sure if someone woke you up from your afternoon nap to early...your response sounds a bit pompus and condescending.
If you would like to share your experience with different (non-stock) tires operating in various conditions, I would like to hear them. If not, I would appreciate hearing from others.

In the past, these tires were sub-par and were replaced gratis by BMW NA due to unacceptable wear and road noise after a relatively short amount of use. The tires that are being produced now are said to be much better, but I don't think anyone has driven the new ones long enough to say for sure how much of an improvement was made.
I have these tires, and they seem fine but a little hard. Lateral acceleration seems fine, but then there was never much of a problem in this area with the old tire.
If you're going to swap them, my personal recommendation would be Toyo Proxes T1-R tires. You won't find them on the Tire Rack.
