My Ride: 530d manual
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
As the title states, thinking of getting my 530d manual remapped. its the 2007 235ps model. All my friends who have the 35d are telling me to get this done as soon as possible. My only concern is will the clutch, flywheel etc be able to handle the amount of torque after the map?I thought the whole reason the 535d was not made in a manual is because the manual gearbox couldnt handle the torque?Have decided that if i get it done, it will probably be evolve automotive but just in split minds about getting it done in the first place. Let me know your thoughts

Hey! I have some answers, ideas and possibly solutions for you!
My ex-car was a 2004 530d manual and I took 326hp / 666Nm out of it and the remap was still quite subtle! Mods that I did before remapping:
- Changed the 35d injectors. This is a must when reaching higher. 30d injectors will get you up to 300hp or even a bit more, but that's it.
- Removed the DPF, which will be clogged pretty fast if not removed.
- Nothing more for the power/torque (I installed a Quaife LSD just for fun
)
The programmer especially tried to limit the highest torque to save the clutch. And the clutch worked and handled the max. torque pretty well, but I noticed it started to slip when doing hard accelerations. But it never surrendered completetely lol! However, I prepared myself and ordered a strengthened clutch from Kestrel Transmissions. It is not a sintered clutch, which is very annoying in normal driving. It is not a usual mass clutch, but a kevlar clutch. It has the comfort of a typical mass clutch. The break-in period is longer, though.
So, I never installed this clutch, because I changed my car. Therefore I still have the clutch, never used. It is for sale
. You can ask Kestrel what price they want for the product, and I will sell it cheaper of course! Or anyone else interested!
Here's the dyno video:

Other things also have been changed,
OEM 218cv 500nm
1st repro 255cv and 559 nm (it was only electronica)
Because I think that this engine has a lot of room for improvement for power:
Exhaust manifold replaced by a new
FAP was removed
Butterflies intake manifold were removed
Turbo 2260 reinforced with a hybrid compressor lighter and higher
The small OEM Intercooler left was replaced by one with 700x300x76 (XXL)
Was made 2nd repro = 302 hp 672nm
Some photos of the material
