Hello boys and girls,
just a quick story about my 54plate e60 530d,
got it at 120k half a year ago and just after a month turbo blew up!!
fair play i thought and got a new one!!
remowed swirl flaps at the same time and was happy 4 about 2 weeks when it begin not to start when hot
after a week of goin thru garages got an software update and all was fine till now
few days ago decided to get it remaped to get that few extra bhp and all went not to bad:
wuz quite happy thou bhp increase wasnt as big as expected 218 to 239 and torque to 580
but the same day driving about noticed sudden power loss on 3500rpm, it just looked like turbo is shuttin itself down!!
got it back to garage for a test and apparentelly DPF is gone!!!
fukin hate this car and love at the same time coz every day its a surprize!
its at the garage now and the guys r tryin to remowe DPF , they said its all relatted to blown turbo coz it sucked all oil out ov the engine
and all crap went thru DPF and CAT..

Sounds like a dodgy turbo or remap. Remapped power is very low
![Crying](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/crying.gif)
on dyno run u can actualy see some exhaust commin out thru turbo breather on highest revs

Who did the remap?
but reason of such a small gain was particle filter which had a major surgery today and its not a problem anymore!!
tmw these guys gonna upload the map again and there shoult b massive difference, gonna do a dyno run too

Kempower delivers up to 306hp for the 235 DPF models with custom maps. But you are correct, if the DPF clogs you lose all your hp and when a turbo blows...
Don't forget to dyno before & after because every dyno gives different results. Would love to see hp at wheels so I know exactly what the transmissions loss is.

guys at the garage said it could deliver more power but it woult put a lot ov pressure to the system and decided to keep it safe wif a bit less boost.

Sorry to hear about the hassle you went through. I had the manifold go on mine, which killed the turbo in the process
But mine's also sorted now and I have a remap from 218hp to 260hp and 500nm to 580nm. Those are the "standard" remap values used by the reputable tuners, so agree with you, best to keep to those values rather than pushing for more.
Enjoy...

You got some balls, my friend. There is no way in hell I would screw around with installing a turbo on my car from fear of blowing out my engine or destroying it in some way!
