Hey guys, so i have had this 528i for almost two years now and just get so tired of its low performance, say i want to increase horsepower by 50 to 100...what kind of chip mod i should get and the price range as well as shops that i should i have it installed, i am living in the orange county/los angeles area. The only item that will increase as much as you want is forced induction. there are no simple bolt-ons to acheive that much power for our cars.

Typical bolt-ons would be Sprintbooster/Velocity unit RPI intake and exhaust. You'd be lucky to add 15 rwhp with the addition of all these things, but with the sprintbooster/velocity unit, it make it feel as though you have added a bit of HP.

 

Thank you so much for your comments, i asked eurorev and they said they carry some kind of chip that could increase up to 18HP but it cost like 550 which is a bit steep...i also heard people installing BMS powerbox which only yields about 8-10HP more for 300. Any more inputs would be great

 

I too, am waiting for the reviews of the BMS powerbox. Stay tuned...They should be up shortly. I have a sprintbooster and thought it was great, but I will ditch it in a second for the BMS if it is going to be that much better!

 

Wouldn't a 2007 year model be a 525 pre-lCI ???

Depends... a 2007.5 - present is a LCI.

RPI exhaust
RPI Scoop
Air filter....

20-30hp tops...$13-1500 for every thing ( un installed, but most of it is bolt on)

Racing Dynamics head/cam/Exhaust engine upgrade package, like 30-50 hp $7000 (reportedly) since I don't know any one that has it here on the forums.

No Supercharger or Turbo Bolt on "Kit" for the N52 motor currently. A person or two tried the Active Autowerks M54 Supercharger kit, with bad results.Got rid of the kit....


The Velocity or Sprint boosters will make you feel Faster, for $2-400

 

for the RPI products we do have the scoops and exhausts (for the 6 cylinder e60s) in stock with the special still going on for those exhausts so far we've put the exhausts on 2 528s.
