Today Hartge NL quoted me the possible new hp from the LCI 525d (3.0 ltr engine).

They can go as far as 197>>271hp an 400>>591nm

Thats +37.5% extra hp and +47.5% extra nm!!!

Cost total ? 1350,- excl. VAT.

From www.hartge.de :
12 30 0197 G Leistungssteigerung durch Steuerger?t?nderung *
f?r 525d (Basis 145 kW / 197 PS)
199 kW (271 PS) bei 4000 U/min 591 Nm bei 2000 U/min

Anyone comments?

Eddy.

Eddy.
What is their policy when you have a software update -and you will- (and the remap get's wiped) - will they re-do it free of charge or ask for more $$ ? Is there a local dealer who does it or do you have to ship your DME to them?

the remap is great , the price is a rip-off IMO

Yes a lot of $$$, but still a lot cheaper than a 535d (+? 16000!!) comparing to an 525d.

They guarantee the block 3 years /100000 km, price incl. Vmax free 250+ km.
Hartge Netherlands is located 100 km from my home.

So did you get it done ??

I have been looking at this.....my guess is its more than just a remap. From my friend who supplies turbos to BMW.....

the 530D and 525D engines are extremely similar- he guesses that the hartge costs includes
- remapping (doh)
- swapping out the injectors (they are different on the 530 vs 525D, apparanetly)
- new cyclinder head = hes not sure on this one

The HP numbers appear correct if you consider the 530 and 525 have the same block and turbos, the above comments and that pushing a 530D to 270 from stock with just a remap is no issue whatsoever.

Anyone have anything to add ??

So do you think that after that remap your car will be fast as a 535d ?
No man, I don't think so
