My Ride: 04 525i, 04 Dinan M3
So I'm looking to get a darker tint, I have 35% now. Its very hot in Texas during the summer and this tint is not dark enough. I had 5% on my last car, and thinking of it on this car. From a LOOK standpoint, Yay or Nay? I'm not worried from a legal standpoint. I can get it inspected, and never had issues with 5% on my last car. Would be too much or should I opt for 15%?

I like the bizatches to see who is driving my biiiatch, so 5% is much too dark for me. the most i would do is 20%.

I have 3M 15% tint on mine, and love it (its actually 8~9% transparancy, OEM glass is tinted like 7% according to my tint guy).
It is dark, especially at night. But you get used to it. During the day, its not that bad. I also have Beige leather, so that helps lighten it during the day.
I am partial to dark tints, both for the interior coolness/preservation, but for the look as well.
I say go for it.

5% all the way around is way too dark for me, I would go 15-20% all the way around and you'll be fine. When I lived in Houston I had 15% on my black Audi w/ black leather interior and it seemed to work pretty good, under the circumstances. It gets friggin hot down there!!!

5% all the way around is ghetto, so unless you have a lot of chrome to go with it please don't do it. Maybe instead of darker tint you should try ceramic tint, its supposed to be better at blocking out UV and heat.
