Was looking to purchase a rear hamann type trunk spoiler and roof spoiler, the majority of the cheapy ones on ebay use 3M double adhesives to hold it in place. I don't know much about 3m adhesives but it sounds like tape holding it down, anyone have experience with these type of spoilers and know if it will hold? I don't wanna be doing 120mph on the highway and have it fly off into someone elses car lol.

your concern isnt for it flying off ur trunk, its more like getting it stolen. every car ive had, spoilers, roof spoiler and etc.. ive always taken it to body shop and they have installed it with some special silicone that turns into hard rock. i suggest this since people have tried to take my stuff before off my car, but with no luck only bad thing is if its a lease then u can never take that off your trunk or whatever.. it stays there and its done

That's the rear spoiler I was looking at, like I said its a cheapo one. My bro in law seems to think I'm pretty much gonna get what I'm paying for and that it'll last a year or two before it falls apart.

Cheap or not cheap, same material OEM products are used for. Just not made by the manufacture therefore it's cheaper price wise. It won't fall apart in a year or two. All u may need to do Is to sand paper it so u have a great fitment with no gaps or nething in between

My bro had an e60 with a spoiler just like that.. Lasted 3 years until the lease was up n just gave it with the car since we couldn't remove it. Trust me

I use beta-link, its oem what bmw uses for body trim and spoilers. Can buy at dealer.

i like 3M tape. Yes u risk getting it stolen but you risk getting anything stolen no matter what is on ur car anyway. I have 3M tape and I grab on my spoiler to push my car and it's like part of the car. I can also pull on the spoiler and the car moves. Spoiler doesnt come off.

The best combo is 3M tape + silicone based adhesive. Search my DIY and it'll take you through the steps for install. I've had mine for three years, no probs....

My 335's rear spoiler was put on with just 3M tape. When I lease returned the car, I was able to take off the spoiler. Trust me, with just the 3M tape, the spoiler is going no where.
