depending on the diameter, I'd say. 19, 20? 21? How big? How wide? What suspension are you running/planning to run?

That's a pretty wide tire. Not sure on E60 non-M applications but I don't think it'd fit without some fender rolling and/or spacers.

usually on a 20x9, a 245 width tire is used. some may get away with 255, which is usually put on an M5.

i doubt 265/30 will work

255/30 might be best really

or 265/25 (whoa... good luck finding it)

Why do you want to go so wide? A 245 or 255 looks better IMHO...

I am running 255/30/R20 on a 9x20 with ET15 (ET20 plus 5mm spacer). That fits fine with my factory fitted M-Sport suspension, which is about 15mm lower than standard suspension.
This is with Yokohama Advan Sports, which are very wide tyres, much wider than Dunlops, Contis or Michalins.

Any thing more than that and I think it would rub in the corners.

You also need to check your offset, because if I did not have the 5mm spacer and left it at ET20, then I am sure it would rub on the inside -- there is the right amount of space at the moment.
