This may have been answered so apologies as I'm a newbie on the post. I have an '05 530i I'd like to put new tires on right now I have 18" oem rims and the max recommended size of 245 40 18 front/275 35 18 rear combination. I want to go 255 40 18 Front - 285 35 18 Rear will this be a problem since that size is usually for the 19" rims?

thanks for your guidance/advice!

You can go with 285s in back, but 255s will rub up front. Best to go with 245/40 and 275/35 to stay in spec IMHO.
