My Ride: 2008 BMW 550 -- Dinan Stage 1 (fully loaded)
--------------------------------------------
1. Dinan Free Flow Exhaust
2. Dinan High Flow Intake
3. Dinan Stage 3 Software
4. Dinan Shock Braces
5. Dinan Strut Braces
6. Dinan Throttle Body
7. Dinan Stage 1 Suspension
8. Black kidney grills
9. HRE Performance Rims (P40s in textured black)
10. Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires
I lowered my 550 with Koni shocks, struts and springs. They lowered the car another 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch over what the sport suspension had already done off a standard 550 (w/o sport suspension). I'll take a picture when I head to lunch. I'm running 19s with 245/35 in the front and 275/30 in the rear.

I have a 2008 550 - last year with the sport auto transmission and with sport package. I lowered my car with Koni shocks, struts and springs. Here are some pictures of it lowered (excuse the dirt). You'll also see my HRE Performance P40s rims finished in textured black wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Thanks for the Pictures and great color - What Size our your rims? - I just lowered it today and yes it dropped ,the tires are right at the top of fender (20inch rims) drove a little in traffic ride seems stiffer but about the same over bumps it probably will settle more right ? Feels a lot lower but looks clean and solid the big test is coming have to drive from Orange county Ca to Oklahoma 1200+ miles 1 way then I will know and will have trunk weight also . I will take pictures tomorrow and post them . Kept old springs just in case. question what is bump stops would that help the ride?

It took about 600 miles for my new suspension to settle in. My suspension is also adjustable when you have it on a lift -- I have everything set to medium stiffness. In addition to the suspension, I swapped my tires from run flats to normal tires. This helped greatly with the feel of the car after the suspension change. It felt too stiff until I swapped the tires -- and with the new tires also gained better handling performance. If you're running with run flats, I'd recommend changing away from them to improve your ride quality and performance.

I took a ride today and car looks great but with 2 people and when i went over sudden dips on freeway it bottomed out a little in the rear were you could hear it rub (I'm on Continental tires) I hate that but look is great ..So I'm going to look into air bags maybe there must be some way to adjust rear height when traveling on a long trip? What do you think ? I heard of coil overs .I love the look it has with 20s but have to do something to adjust height for passengers and luggage .. looks like I'm in for some extra expense . let me know if you know a great installer or any ideas .
Thanks
