2007 BMW E60 NBT iDrive retrofit from 2014 F30
The car, 2007 LCI.
Hello boring Mask radio, no bluetooth, small screen, no nav.
New parts ready to be installed.
Cutting the central console with 3d printed iDrive controller template
Let the fun begin
New iDrive controller Touch installed
New radio loom made, including mic plug and iDrive controller plug
Let's test it while we are here...So far so good
Now let do some panel cutting...very messy job but has to be done as the new controller would not fit in there.
Ok let's continue, let's clean as we go
Trim reinstalled
USB plug and mic installed
Getting there eventually
Let's deframe the F30 screen now so we can integrate it into the original E60 screen frame.
Not to worry, no screen was harmed in the process. Only the cover.
Final testing before putting everything back together
All done...yeah climate button is missing, car came to me like this. Owner is having a new one on the way.

Still challenging using the Dremel to match the contours, even with the template, but much more accurate that what it used to be when I was just doing them with the Dremel alone.
I could do it for you if your want, you could send me your console trim.
Or I know a guy in Romania that actually cut them off with laser cutting, perfect match.
Not sure how much he charges but I will ask.
As for the rest, wiring etc, it can be pre-made no problem. So it is plug and play for you
