Hi:

Just ordered my new 550 black sapphire for Euro delivery with Aero kit. Dealer charge was 4K for my Aero kit to be applied at the Port professionally.

All dealers charged me 4K so I could not negotiate this..the labor was 2.5K and the part was 1.5K

Anybody have any thoughts on Aero kits..I think they look cool on the 550.
I would not pay for an M5 99K, but my 550 will look awesome I think..

Hi Tej,

I just posted a reply to you on "Purchasing 550i - Fair Price". Price that you paid for the /M-Aero kit is too high.

Roleez: $3,285 is still too high. I paid under $3K for my /M-Aero kit installation at the VDC. Again, see my post on the above topic.

I got mine for 1890 because the dealer made a mistake. The part is 1690 and the "invoice" price on it installed and painted is a little over 2300 for the dealer. Everything else is pure profit for them.

I think they look great. But, I also think they look too fast for the car. The car is a good performer, but is not an M5. No one else will agree so just chalk my opinion up to my desire to be stealthful.

I agree with vnod

If I wanted something sportier than a 550i but less so than a M5, I would put the $3K toward performance mods rather than the Aero kit, which I believe is purely cosmetic. However, I understand the rationale for the Aero kits if one wants to stand out in areas such as L.A. where 5-series are as common as Accords.

Thanks for the help 550 fans.

I think I got the deal with all your help. No one got ripped off!!

I cancelled Aero kit on my new 550. I will get the car sooner since it will not sit at the VPC.

I will buy the aero kit for 1200 from the dealer and the BMW body shop will install it for 1200.

TOTAL 2400 not 4000.

Total for my new 550 with all options and ED will be about 2 thousand below USA wholesale.

Thanks to this forum i saved alot of money.

For ED in the Bay Area (San Jose): I have great recommendations. Just mail me
