Can someone confirm that M3 rear wheels should fit on a 525i but the front wheels being high offset need a 20mm spacer and than should
fit? Also do i need new bolts with a 20mm spacer.

My Ride: 535d Sport, carbon black, media pack, visibility pack, grey leather, heated seats, sun protection glass, voice control, Eibach ProKit, 19" 166 style wheels, e-maps ECU remap to 325hp and 640NM, top speed limiter removed
Default

Yes the rears of the e.g. M3CSL are 9.5x19 ET27 which is fine, the fronts are 8.5x19 ET44, which will at least require 20mm as you said, if not 25mm spacers.
If you want to go that route, on spacers of 20mm and thicker I would always go for a hub mounted solution, which is more sturdy than using massively longer bolts. The spacer is collared and gets screwed to the hub and then you can use the normal bolts to screw the wheel to the hubcentric spacer.

For information purposes, the system 4 spacers on below website would be the style you're looking at.

I can confirm what you are saying. My wheels came off an M3. I had to use 15mm (Not 20mm) wheel spacers from Rogue Engineering in the front, none in the rear. So far so good. Do not forget to put the grease before installing those, I did, I'm sure I will experience pain when I try to remove those.
You will need new bolts (Even with the 15mm)

why would there be rubbing if all you do is correct the offset to the standard offset ? My fronts are 8.5x20 ET20, which would equal a 24mm spacer with your offsets and they are perfectly fine (even have a little space left)

If you do NOT go for hub mounted spacers, you need longer bolts. If you go 20mm and use hub mounted ones, the standard bolts are fine.
The M5 and M6 front wheels are 8.5x19 ET12 and these also fit no problem with the correct tyres.
