So I just bought a 04 530i and it's an 4/04 build model. I've been reading on the boards about adding bluetooth etc but am very confused cause there are so many different posts.

1) Do I need any hardware to make my car bluetooth enabled or is it just a software update by the dealer?

2) If I do need hardware what is the part number I would need?

3) If I want to add the iPod, and yes I do have a 6-disc changer, how much will it cost and what is the part #?

Called one dealer and they said i needed CPT 9000 is that correct? Or can I just pair it without that part and just a software update?

 

As I understand it cars from 03/2004 are bluetooth capable. My car has a build date of 03/2004, and I was able to have the dealer turn it "on" via a software retrofit. No parts required.
