Default 20" Wheel Fitment on 525i

First at hand, let me apologize if this is already on this forum or any others in that case because I have searched for the past 5 hours with no luck. Now on with my simple question. I am putting 20" wheels on my e60 that originally came with the factory 17's. I have ran into a problem that I just cant seem to figure out. 3 of the 4 fit just perfect but my front passenger is rubbing/hitting the bottom of the strut where you don't even want to chance it on moving the vehicle. We even tried placing a different wheel/tire from the driver side, which had about 1/4" clearance to see if it might be a defect of wheel or tire and still the same thing. Also after inspecting the strut, it even appears that it is turned in a little more than the driver side as if they are adjustable, but I don't believe this could be true. Any input or help will be greatly appreciated.

Has the car been in an accident? Try putting the passenger wheel on the driver side just to check. Both front wheels the same size and offset?

Thanks for the response. I tried that with the passenger as well and even one of the rear. It come out to being the same situation. The accident scenario was also in my head since I did buy it used but there is no evidence of there ever being repairs, i.e.. paint lines, etc. I'm thinking that if this is a very uncommon situation that maybe some type of damage has been done in the past. Carfax shows nothing and I purchased it from the original owner, which was a elder lady. So who knows. I know that 19" will work so if I can't get any positive info, I will just send the wheels back. The sad thing is with all the exterior/interior adds and performance adds, the car was going to be decent looking with the 20's and performance will be better. I have a buddy that does a soft flash to the ecu that actually does improve some of the performance plus I added sport mode as well. Added borla exhaust and AFE CAI. Changed the headers as well. I was scared on doing a complete flash of the ECU do to how temperamental Bimmers can be. We are doing the electronics inside as well by using Nav-TV integrated multimedia module. Adding.....well I can go on for hours, LOL. Sorry. Like I stated earlier, thanks for the response.

I just think I'm going to go down to 19's instead of working with the 20's.

I ended up going with 19's offset and staggered. The car has been in construction mode for the past 2 months. The modifications have been incredible as well as a learning curve. It's about 60% complete to this point. The nav tv mod has been great. Works well with Apple TV, rear cam, and ps4 that were all installed. I wish they made a better integrated screen but video quality is not bad. Still waiting on the ESS supercharger that is coming across the pond from Norway. The new suspension is taking me a little to get use to, as far as performance and looks.
Not sure how to include pics on here

Sounds like the car is coming along, I'm sure you're excited to share with everyone, so to attach pics, look down below "Go Advanced" -> Manager Attachment -> browse and upload -> submit reply
